A 3 Day Self Drive Tour of the Canadian Rockies with your Personal GPS Tour Guide—GyPSy™Day 1. In and Around Banff
Spend a day touring around the Banff townsite, stopping at sightseeing highlights including Bow Falls, Surprise Corner, the Hoodoos and Lake Minnewanka. If time allows in the afternoon/evening, stop by the Vermillion Lakes. Don't forget to take your camera - the changing colours on Mt Rundle make for a great sunset alpenglow photo. Back in downtown Banff arrange supplies for tomorrow's picnic lunch and perhaps end the day with a soak in the natural hot springs. Overnight Banff.

Day 2. Icefields Parkway - Road to the Glaciers.
Over 100 glaciers line the spectacular Icefield Parkway, making it one of the most stunning drives in the world. A busy day awaits you, so we suggest an early start. Drive north on the Icefields Parkway #93, stopping at the many viewpoints, all are spectacular. Places not to miss include Bow Summit, Peyto Lake and just before the Athabasca Glacier stop at Parkers Ridge, where you may want to enjoy the picnic lunch we suggested. After a short but steep trail (250m elevation gain), you will be rewarded with great views of the Saskatchewan Glacier. Finally drive onto the Icefield Centre and enjoy the highlight of the drive, the Athabasca Glacier. At your leisure drive back to Banff, we suggest enjoying an afternoon beverage at historic Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, just north of Lake Louise.
Overnight Banff.
Day 3. Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
Drive out to Moraine Lake and enjoy the early morning calm on the lake - the best time for scenic reflections. Onto Lake Louise and walk the lakeshore trail to the end of the lake towards Victoria Glacier. Try the famous Traditional Afternoon English Tea at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise while enjoying the awe inspiring mountain views.
Overnight Lake Louise.
Day 4. Lake Louise and Johnston Canyon.
On your final day driv
e slowly along the Bow Valley Parkway 1A) from Lake Louise to Banff. This is a wilderness corridor so keep the speed down and allow plenty of space if you do see wildlife. The short trail hike to Johnston Canyon (between Lake Louise and Banff on the Bow Valley Parkway 1A), is a great way to cool off if a hot day or stretch the legs if you have a long day of traveling ahead.CREATE YOUR OWN PERFECT VACATION TO BANFF LAKE LOUISE
